Insuficiencia Cardiaca is committed to protecting the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of individuals participating in research and clinical investigations. The journal follows the ethical recommendations and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
Authors are responsible for obtaining informed consent from all participants involved in studies, case reports, clinical images, or any publication containing identifiable personal information. Participants should be adequately informed about the purpose of the study, potential risks and benefits, the intended use of their data, and their right to withdraw consent in accordance with applicable regulations.
The data and information of individuals, including information obtained through a doctor–patient relationship, medical records, clinical examinations, photographs, videos, and other personal identifiers, must be handled with the highest levels of confidence, privacy, and discretion. Patient confidentiality must be preserved at all times, and identifying details should not be published unless they are essential for scientific purposes and explicit written consent for publication has been obtained.
For case reports, clinical images, and other materials in which patients may be identifiable, authors must confirm that written informed consent for publication was obtained from the patient or their legal representative. Copies of consent forms may be requested by the editorial office during the review process but will be treated as confidential documents.
Editors reserve the right to request additional documentation regarding informed consent and ethical approval when necessary. Manuscripts that fail to demonstrate appropriate informed consent procedures or that compromise patient confidentiality may be rejected at any stage of the editorial or publication process.
By submitting a manuscript to Insuficiencia Cardiaca, authors affirm that all applicable informed consent requirements have been fulfilled and that the rights, privacy, and welfare of research participants have been fully respected.
