However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, originality, and validity of all content submitted for publication. The use of AI tools must not compromise scientific rigor, ethical standards, or authorship accountability.

Generative AI systems, including large language models and similar technologies, cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the work, approve the final manuscript, disclose conflicts of interest, or fulfill authorship criteria established by ICMJE.

Authors are encouraged to disclose the use of generative AI tools in the manuscript, specifying the name of the tool, version (if applicable), and the purpose for which it was used. Such disclosures should be included in the acknowledgments section or in a dedicated statement within the manuscript. AI-generated content should always be carefully reviewed, verified, and edited by the authors to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.

The use of generative AI tools for the creation, manipulation, or fabrication of research data, images, results, references, or conclusions is strictly prohibited. Any use of AI that results in plagiarism, falsification, misleading information, or scientific misconduct will be considered a violation of the journal’s ethical standards and may lead to manuscript rejection, retraction, or other editorial actions in accordance with COPE guidance.

Editors and reviewers may utilize AI-assisted tools for administrative purposes, language assessment, or plagiarism screening; however, confidential manuscript content must not be uploaded to publicly accessible AI platforms in a manner that could compromise author confidentiality, intellectual property rights, or unpublished research data.

By submitting a manuscript to Insuficiencia Cardiaca, authors affirm that any use of generative AI technologies has been appropriately disclosed and that they retain full responsibility for the content, accuracy, and integrity of their work.
