Insuficiencia Cardiaca adheres to the authorship and contributorship recommendations established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the ethical principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the study. To qualify as an author, contributors should meet all four ICMJE authorship criteria:
- Significant contributions to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
- Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content;
- Final approval of the version to be published; and
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work and to ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately in the acknowledgments section, with their permission.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible contributors are included as authors, that no inappropriate authorship practices have occurred, and that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript prior to submission. Any changes to the author list, including the addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors, must be requested in writing and accompanied by the consent of all authors involved.
The journal does not tolerate authorship misconduct, including gift authorship, honorary authorship, ghost authorship, or undisclosed contributors. Suspected authorship disputes or unethical practices will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines, and the journal reserves the right to request supporting documentation or reject manuscripts where authorship concerns cannot be satisfactorily resolved.
To promote transparency, authors may be asked to provide a detailed statement describing the specific contributions of each author to the submitted work. The journal encourages the use of standardized contributor role taxonomies, such as CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), whenever appropriate.
